What to expect

However you arrive, you'll be met with care.

You don't need the right words

We begin wherever you are, even if that's not knowing where to begin, or quite what you feel.

You set the pace

Nothing is rushed or pushed. We go at a speed that feels safe, and you're never made to say more than you want to.

Nothing is too much to bring

After many years of this work, there is very little I haven't sat with. Whatever you bring is met with the same calm and care.

It stays between us

What you share is confidential. This is a space that is entirely, quietly yours.

About Sheryl

Hello, I'm Sheryl.

For more than 20 years, I've supported individuals and families facing some of life's most difficult moments. My work has focused on palliative and end-of-life care, grief, and the unique emotional strain that comes with caring for an ill or aging relative or friend. I also have extensive experience supporting professionals in hospice and residential care settings, helping them navigate the emotional impact of their work.

Alongside this, I've worked with people who have lived through war, displacement, and other traumatic experiences. I aim to offer a steady, compassionate space where overwhelming feelings can be understood and held safely.

My approach is calm, patient, and grounded in deep respect for each person's story. Whether you're grieving, anticipating a loss, caring for someone in declining health, or processing trauma, we can work together to find clarity, strength, and a sense of steadiness in your own way and at your own pace.

What counselling is

Counselling is a relationship between two people, built on acceptance, empathy and understanding.

Psychodynamic

Bringing into awareness the thoughts and feelings held out of view, often rooted in childhood. With insight, change can begin.

Confidential

What you bring stays between us, unless I'm concerned for your safety or another's. I attend regular supervision.

Particular experience

People in the helping professions, those facing end-of-life issues, carers, and relatives of survivors of the Holocaust.

There are things we can only understand when someone else is listening.

Ways to work together

However you'd like to meet, the space is the same.

Whichever format feels right, every session is held with the same care, confidentiality and unhurried attention.
